Crate.tf
Safety & Scam Prevention
Your safety comes first. Crate.tf uses Steam’s official trade offer system and automated bots to keep trading reliable. Use the guidance below to avoid impersonators, phishing, and off-platform scams.
How Crate.tf Trades Work
- All trades are delivered via Steam trade offers.
- We only trade through our official bot accounts.
- You always review and accept the offer in Steam before anything proceeds.
Official Communication
- We do not ask for your Steam password or Steam Guard codes.
- We do not contact you first to “verify” or “unlock” your account.
- We do not require you to install browser extensions or third-party apps.
Common Scams to Avoid
- Impersonators: fake “Crate.tf staff” or “bot support” accounts.
- Phishing: links that look like Steam or Crate.tf but are not.
- “Verification” trades: requests to send items to “verify” or “check” your inventory.
- Middleman/escrow scams: requests to trade through a third party.
- Overpay promises: offers that are “too good to be true.”
